RICHMOND, Va. — Virginia is seeking public comment on using private-public partnerships to fund transportation projects throughout the state.

Gov. Bob. McDonnell’s office on Tuesday announced nearly two dozen projects that are up for discussion as viable for public-private partnerships.

The Daily Press reports (http://bit.ly/MzMT4K) that the Office of Transportation Public-Private Partnerships will be taking comments until July 2.

Projects include possible improvements for Interstates 95, 64 and 66, as well as expanding the Port of Virginia and improving the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel and the Monitor-Merrimack Bridge-Tunnel.

Officials say Virginia has used the Public-Private Transportation Act to deliver critical transportation infrastructure projects since its creation in 1995. Those projects include improvements in Hampton Roads, Northern Virginia and western Virginia.
