Dixon Hughes Goodman Announces Brian Burns as Senior Manager

Richmond, VA, March 10, 2014 – Dixon Hughes Goodman LLP, announces Brian Burns, CPA/ABV/CFF, ASA has joined the firm as a Senior Manager in the Richmond office.  Burns has more than eight years of public accounting experience providing business valuations and forensic accounting services to privately-held and public companies across a wide spectrum of industries.

Brian assists businesses and individuals with valuation services in the areas of family law, financial reporting, stock-based compensation, litigation and shareholder disputes, transaction consulting, tax matters, and employee stock ownership plans.    Burns possesses niche expertise in the valuation of intellectual property as well as securities in complex capital structures of early stage enterprises.  The primary focus areas of his forensic accounting practice include litigation support and consulting in commercial and family law matters.

Burns has worked with both public and private businesses in the following industries: technology, financial institutions, insurance, manufacturing, distribution, government contracting, healthcare services, construction and retail services industries.   

Burns holds the following professional certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV), Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) and Accredited Senior Appraiser in Business Valuation (ASA). Prior to joining Dixon Hughes Goodman, Burns was a Manager at Keiter.  He serves as President of the Richmond Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers and participates on certain task forces of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
