WARNER’S, WITTMAN’S BAY CLEANUP BILL APPROVED BY SENATE (DAILY PRESS)
December 2nd, 2014

The U.S. Senate has passed a bill sponsored by Senator
Mark Warner and Representative Rob Wittman to improve how Washington tracks
Chesapeake Bay cleanup efforts and promote more collaboration in that effort.
The Chesapeake Bay Accountability Act now heads to the House of
Representatives. It requires the Office of Management and Budget to prepare a
single budget to better track the progress of Bay restoration efforts,
comparing costs and the performance of restoration activities by the various
federal agencies involved in the Bay preservation effort. That effort involves
at least 10 federal agencies, Virginia and five other states, the District of
Columbia, and more than 1,000 local governments. Click here
