Several equal rights bills will not move forward this session in Virginia’s state legislature. Monday, legislators on the Senate Commerce and Labor Subcommittee killed a bill that would have raised the minimum wage. With an 11 to 3 vote late Monday afternoon Republican lawmakers shot down a bill that would have raised Virginia’s mandatory minimum wage from $7.25 an hour up to $10.10.
