The new pre-paid cable modem Internet service allows customers more flexibility and convenience
Edinburg, VA. – August 17, 2015 – Shenandoah Telecommunications Company (Shentel) (NASDAQ: SHEN) has launched Flex, a new Internet service with no credit restrictions that is pre-paid on a month-to-month basis, thus bringing an affordable option to more customers.
The new Flex service costs $19.99 for 30 days of usage. A one-time, $99 sign-up fee covers a starter kit with the wireless modem, professional installation and the first 30 days of service. Once a customer pays the up-front cost, they own the modem and will incur no further equipment fees for the service. Approximately three weeks after the initial sign-up and installation, customers will receive a welcome kit that includes a key card and key fob, which is used to add more time to the account as needed.
Users should visit flex.shentel.com to view their account status, purchase more time or set up an automatic payment schedule. Customers can also add more time to their Flex account using their key card or key fob at any of the 70 Dollar General locations in the Shentel service area or at any Shentel store location.
“Having in-home Internet access has become essential to everyday life. Flex is a great product for folks looking for an entry-level Internet service, without the burden of a contract and expensive monthly payments,” said Tom Whitaker, VP Shentel. “We are delighted to be able to offer an affordable and convenient product that no other Internet service provider in the region offers.”
Flex is being offered to new Internet customers in Shentel’s serviceable areas, and is available regardless of credit or payment history. Customers are not required to pay each month and may purchase more time whenever it is convenient with no penalty or additional charge.
