Fairfax EDA leader receives economic development award
Gerald L. Gordon, the president and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority, has received an award from the International Economic Development Council for his “lasting commitment to the field of economic development.”
The IEDC, a nonprofit group of 4,600 economic developers, presented Gordon with its Jeffrey A. Finkle Organizational Leadership Award at its annual conference in Anchorage, Alaska.
Gordon has worked at the FCEDA since late 1983. Since then, office space in Fairfax has grown from 32 million square feet to more than 116 million, and the number of jobs in the county increased from 243,000 to almost 600,000.
