Norfolk, VA (March 21, 2017) – Vandeventer Black LLP welcomes new associate Michael. D. Pierce to the Norfolk office where he will initially join the Labor & Employment and Workers’ Compensation legal team. As part of the professional training program established by the Firm, Pierce will rotate within its various legal departments.

Vandeventer Black’s Associate program provides recent law school graduates an opportunity to develop in an authentic professional setting, participating in discussions of real cases, contributing with their perspectives and performing relevant tasks. The department rotations allow the Associates to benefit from real experience in various industries, allowing them to choose an area of specialization.
Pierce’s academic development began with a B.A. in Political Science from the Christopher Newport University of Newport News. In the interim, he served as a secondary educator on government and economics at an urban high school in Norfolk. He pursued his J.D. at the Regent University School of Law, with minor studies in Education. Additionally, Pierce’s bar admission includes all of Virginia State courts. Prior to joining the Firm, he completed a judicial clerkship with the Honorable David F. Pugh and the Honorable Timothy S. Fisher at the Newport News Circuit Court.
