Virginia Chamber Comments on Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI)

Throughout our Blueprint stakeholder engagement process, which included over 6,000 members of the business community, we heard from business leaders on how important affordable, reliable energy is to Virginia’s economic competitiveness. In fact, 55 percent of Blueprint survey respondents identified energy affordability as their top energy concern. Unfortunately, the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) is not consistent with the Chamber and Governor’s goal to make Virginia the best state for business, as it will increase electricity rates and make Virginia less competitive.
