Paws for Purple Hearts Seeks Volunteers

Do you love dogs, appreciate our Veterans and Service Members, and want to help out? Well Paws for Purple Hearts has just the opportunities for you! Our Virginia site is always in search of new volunteers, donors and other connectors. If any of these opportunities interest you, email Christina at christinac@pawsforpurplehearts.org!

Volunteers:

  1. General Volunteers: These are volunteers who help with some dog care such as bathing, walking and socializing puppies! They will also help with facility care/maintenance and sometimes assist at events we attend.
  2. Puppy Parents: Our greatest need at our site is for additional Puppy Parents. This role involves fostering and providing care for one of our service dogs in training. It also includes socializing and helping with training the pup. Paws for Purple Hearts instructors work with you to help prepare you for this fun, exciting challenge!

Donors:

  1. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Paws for Purple Hearts relies on the generosity of others to help continue the expansion of our program. We are always looking for those who are able to give monetary donations or needed supplies such as Nylabones, Benebones, dog treats, towels, blankets, etc. It costs around $33,000 to train each of our amazing service dogs and we never charge a penny to the Veteran who receives one.

Connectors:

  1. We are always looking for opportunities to grow our organization and get the word out. It is with the community support that we are able to do this. If you have any group that would be interested in hearing about our organization let us know!
