CREWE, Va – As of 11:38 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 11, all known, storm-related power outages caused when Winter Storm Diego moved through Southside Electric Cooperative’s (SEC) territory have been restored.
At the peak of the event on Sunday, Dec. 9, nearly 10,000 SEC members lost power.
Mutual aid and contract crews assisting SEC with restoration were: BARC Electric Cooperative, Choptank Electric Cooperative, Community Electric Cooperative, Lee Electrical Construction, Northern Neck Electric Cooperative, Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative and Rappahannock Electric Cooperative.
While all storm-related outages have been restored at this time, lingering effects from the heavy snow on trees may cause additional outages over the next few days. Members experiencing outages should contact the Cooperative at 1-866-878-5514.
SEC wishes to sincerely thank our members for their patience during the extended outage event.
