      Two Six Labs

In 2005, a small start-up research and development company named Secure Command opened in northern Virginia. With a strong focus on cybersecurity, the company began work on theirtwosixlabs mission: creating and deploying innovative solutions to national security challenges. The company entered this technology space at the right time, as cybersecurity was growing swiftly, and within four years received significant venture capital from multiple local VCs and rebranded/relaunched the company as Invincea.

In 2017, part of the company was sold to a global cyber security leader.  Simultaneously, the R&D arm spun out and was rebranded as Two Six Labs to forge a new path. With most entrepreneurial start-ups, it is easiest to stay on the same path with the same focus, but Two Six Labs had other ambitions.  The company was facing a situation where they had to decide, stick with the worn path or navigate to new fields?

That’s when Two Six Labs took a broader approach with the products that they were creating, and focused on expanding their core market; cybersecurity. Some expansion came in the form of sales to government customers, making use of promising research and development solutions with less direct commercial potential. Another avenue of growth focused on the deep well of their employee’s expansive cyber knowledge, generalizing broad R&D solutions to multiple industries.

Join us in this broadcast where you’ll hear about an entrepreneurial journey that began small and grew into a thriving, successful, and rapidly expanding business. By answering a simple question, “How do I transform?”, Two Six Labs expanded their existing products, knowledge, and teams to fit multiple industries.
