Flora Pettit is pleased to announce that M. Hunter Rush has joined the law firm as a litigation attorney in its Harrisonburg office.
Hunter has lived in the Shenandoah Valley since 2004. He received his undergraduate degree in Justice Studies and Spanish and a Master of Arts in Teaching from James Madison University. He also earned an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Old Dominion University. Before attending Washington and Lee University School of Law, Hunter taught K–7 and undergraduate students for several years in Harrisonburg. He was especially involved in HCPS’s dual language program and, through his teaching, gained significant insight into the local community.
During his time at W&L, Hunter was the Production Editor of the Washington and Lee Journal of Civil Rights and Social Justice, a Legal Research Teaching Assistant, and a Student Attorney in the law school’s Black Lung Legal Clinic. He also volunteered at an immigration law firm and W&L’s Immigrant Rights Clinic. One of the highlights of Hunter’s time in law school was interning for Chief Judge Roger L. Gregory of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Hunter’s practice with Flora Pettit focuses on commercial business and employment litigation and real estate disputes.
