Rochester, N.Y., April 20, 2022eHealth Technologies, an innovator in retrieving and transforming complex medical records into actionable data for clinicians, announces the promotion of Jeff Freier to Vice President of Operations as well as the appointment of Sean Ways as Vice President of Engineering.

“For more than a decade, Jeff Freier has proven himself as a valuable asset to our organization, a leading example of exceptional customer and patient service,” said Dan Torrens, CEO of eHealth Technologies. “He has been successful at improving the clinician and patient experience across all business functions. He is a born leader, and we look forward to his future success in this executive role.”

Freier brings over 10 years of experience to the team, having previously served in various roles within the organization, including Business Program Director, Senior Regional Operations Director, Director of Customer Engagement, and Regional Team Leader. His eHealth Technologies journey began as a Customer Service Specialist. He took on additional responsibilities and quickly advanced to more senior roles.

“I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to learn about this business from many different angles,” said Freier. “I understand all the intricacies of operations because I have been involved in nearly every job function as we have grown over the years. I love the people, I love the work, and I love knowing what we do makes a big difference in the lives of others.”

In his new role, Freier looks forward to bringing a fresh perspective to the executive team. Having grown up in the organization, he sees his comprehensive experience as a strength. He is well poised to further develop the company and its operations department to be as successful and impactful as possible, in a manner that helps everyone – patients, clients, and his peers.

In addition to Freier, eHealth Technologies is pleased to welcome Sean Ways to the executive leadership team. Ways brings more than 25 years of experience to his new role as vice president of engineering. He most recently served as the software engineering lead for ISACA, following its purchase of CMMI, a spin-off of Carnegie Mellon’s Software Engineering Institute, where he is credited with modernizing technical systems and infrastructure. Highlights from his tenure include a successful boutique software development engagement with the FDA to build a continuous improvement model and the supporting technology for medical device development.

“Sean’s strong background in technology innovation makes him an excellent addition to our team,” said Torrens. “He will be instrumental in leading new product development initiatives, allowing our employees to best serve our clients, and making it easier for patients and their caregivers to get the care they need in an expedited manner.”

In his new role, Ways will be responsible for all technology and technology-enabled systems at eHealth Technologies, including information technology and software engineering.

“I am looking forward to using my background and experience to support eHealth Technologies’ mission in delivering life-altering care, while further improving the patient experience,” said Ways. “My new role allows me to directly contribute to a globally respected leader in medical record and technology-enabled services.”
