VIRGINIA PRIVATE COLLEGES CELEBRATES NON-PROFIT PRIVATE HIGHER EDUCATION EXCELLENCE IN NURSING

Shenandoah University and Liberty University rank among the top five nursing programs in Virginia, according to RNCareers.org, which produces essential workers in the talent pipeline.

RICHMOND, VA – August 13, 2024—The Council of Independent Colleges in Virginia, Inc. (CICV) is proud to announce that two of its member institutions, Shenandoah University and Liberty University, have been recognized by RNCareers.org as having the top five nursing programs in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

“We are honored to be recognized as one of the top nursing programs in Virginia,” said Dr. Lisa Levinson. “This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our faculty, staff, and students. At Shenandoah, we strive to provide a nurturing and challenging environment that equips our students with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their nursing careers.”

This distinction highlights the exceptional quality of education provided by nonprofit private colleges in the state. “We are incredibly proud of Shenandoah University and Liberty University for their outstanding achievements in nursing education,” said Christopher K. Virginia Private Colleges represents 15 non-profit private nursing colleges, which produce nearly 50% of all nursing degrees in the Commonwealth.

Shenandoah University’s Eleanor Wade Custer School of Nursing is renowned for its comprehensive curriculum and state-of-the-art facilities. The program offers various nursing programs, including Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nursing. Under the leadership of Interim Dean Lisa Levinson, PhD, MSN, RN, the school provides various award levels such as APRN Certificate, Bachelor, BSN to DNP, MSN, MSN to DNP, Post Master’s NP Certificate, and RN to MSN. Liberty University’s School of Nursing is one of the state’s best nursing colleges, featuring top-rated nursing programs and curricula, according to RNCareers.org.
