REC Recognized for Strong Customer Satisfaction
September 30th, 2024

Fredericksburg, Va. — Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC) members have spoken, and as a result the Cooperative and its employees earned both a 2023 and a 2024 Customer Satisfaction Award from the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI).

REC customers, also referred to as member-owners, were asked to rate their overall satisfaction with the electric Cooperative, how well it lived up to their expectations and how well it measured up to their ideal experience. While these were not the only questions in the survey, these are included specifically because they are the core components of the proprietary ACSI methodology.

REC’s 2023 and 2024 ACSI scores substantially outperformed the industry average by publicly measured utilities reported in the ACSI Energy Utility Studies for both years.

“In everything we do, our focus is on our members and providing them with safe, affordable and reliable power,” said Casey Hollins, Managing Director – Communications and Public Relations. “The 2023 and 2024 Customer Satisfaction Awards affirm that REC’s hard work has been noticed by our members.”

“From our crews in the fields to our teams in our offices, this is an ongoing team effort,” added Hollins. “Even with industry challenges, our focus is to keep service strong and put members first.”

REC provides electric service to 180,000 connections in parts of 22 Virginia counties. With its general office in Fredericksburg, Va., the Cooperative operates and maintains more than 18,000 miles of power lines through its service area, which ranges from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the tidal waters of the Chesapeake Bay.
