Fredericksburg, VA, (November 20, 2024) – Mary Washington Hospice hosted its seventh annual Light Up a Life Illumination event on Thursday, November 14. This special event allowed community members to purchase luminaries in their loved ones’ memory. Over 320 individuals were honored, and their names were read aloud by the hospice team during an intimate program at Mary Washington Hospital.
The proceeds from Light Up a Life will benefit Mary Washington Hospice and Grief Support Services. Mary Washington Hospice provides supportive end of life care to patients and their families, regardless of their ability to pay. Funds raised from this event support programs like expressive therapies, bereavement support, and more.
“This year, Light Up a Life raised more than $30,000 to support these vital programs,” said Amy Hoffman, Director, Mary Washington Hospice. “We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support and this generous contribution which helps ensure we can continue providing compassionate care and comfort to those in need.”
Mary Washington Hospice would like to thank each donor and sponsor for their gracious support of Light Up a Life 2024.
