DHG Announces Brian Burns Is Promoted to Director

Richmond, Va., September 6, 2016 – Dixon Hughes Goodman (DHG) is pleased to announce that Brian Burns, CPA/ABV/CFF, ASA, MAFF, who leads DHG’s Forensics and Valuation practice in Virginia, has been promoted to Director, effective September 1, 2016.  Brian has more than 11 years of public accounting experience providing services in the practice areas of valuation and forensic accounting including financial investigations, litigation support and consulting services.

Brian advises businesses and individuals with valuation services in the areas of family law, financial reporting, stock-based compensation, litigation and shareholder disputes, transaction consulting, tax matters, and employee stock ownership plans.   The focus areas of his forensic accounting services include consulting services in family law matters and commercial matters such as shareholder disputes, breach of contract, breach of warranties, misappropriation of trade secrets, post-acquisition disputes, tortious interference, statutory conspiracy, business interruption claims, employee embezzlement, investment scams, and fraud.  Brian has been designated as an expert witness and qualified to testify by report, deposition, and trial testimony in various venues in commercial and domestic matters.

Brian currently serves on the Business Valuation Committee of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and is a past award recipient of the Virginia Society of CPAs (VSCPA) Top 5 Under 35 and is a 2016 recipient of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA) 40 Under Forty awards.
