Virginia Nuclear Energy Consortium Works to Advance Virginia’s Nuclear Industry
The Virginia Nuclear Energy Consortium (VNEC) works on
- Promotion of Virginia’s research facilities and capabilities, partnering with the Center for Advanced Engineering and Research (CAER)
- Efforts to train and attract job seekers in nuclear fields
- And increasing educational opportunities
Today, 39 percent of Virginia’s electric power comes from nuclear energy and nuclear research by Virginia universities. Private sector companies working here help drive the commonwealth’s nuclear industry. Virginia is also home to defense industry companies making ships for the US “Nuclear Navy.”
VNEC is working hard to raise the profile of opportunities in Virginia’s nuclear sector. Learn more at http://www.virginianuclear.org/. Learn more about the CAER at http://www.caer.us.
