Norfolk, VA (July 21, 2020) – Vandeventer Black attorney Michael D. Pierce is the new President of the South Hampton Roads Bar Association (SHRBA). The SHRBA is the minority bar association for the Hampton Roads area, and its membership includes lawyers from all seven cities and practitioners in the Richmond area. The association helps its members develop the professional skills and knowledge they need to grow their practices and become great lawyers.

Pierce joined the SHRBA in 2015. Since then, he has received awards for his outstanding participation and contributions to the bar. These recognitions include “Member of the Year” and “Young Lawyer of the Year,” which represent Pierce’s level of professionalism in his bar service and in the practice of law, as well as outstanding service to the local African-American community.
