Fund Will Support Veterans and Veteran-Owned Businesses
[Danville, VA] – The Danville Pittsylvania Chamber of Commerce Foundation is partnering with American Legion Post 1097 to create the Veterans Business Support Fund. The fund will provide resources to veterans and veteran-owned businesses. Details are being finalized and will be shared at a later date.
The fund was announced by Anne Moore-Sparks, president and CEO of the Chamber, at a Veterans Day event at Sam’s Club, one of the Chamber’s 590 member organizations. “Our veterans have given so much in service to our country, and through this Veterans Business Support Fund, we’re honored to give back to them in a way that builds lasting opportunities,” said Moore-Sparks. “Partnering with American Legion Post 1097, we are committed to supporting veterans and veteran-owned businesses by providing resources that will empower them to thrive in our business community. This partnership is a testament to our shared dedication to both economic growth and honoring the sacrifices of those who have served.”
Todd Yeatts, Commander of Post 1097, provided the keynote address at the ceremony that honored and thanked veterans for their service and sacrifice to the country. “As veterans, we know the challenges of transitioning from service to civilian life, including building and sustaining businesses,” stated Yeatts. “The Veterans Business Support Fund embodies a powerful commitment to helping veterans and veteran-owned businesses succeed, and we’re grateful to partner with the Chamber and its network. Together, we’re not just honoring our service—we’re creating pathways for meaningful contributions to our community, which is one of the most impactful ways to support our veterans.”
