RICHMOND, VA – Business Facilities today announced that Virginia has been named the 2024 State of the Year, the highest honor bestowed by the publication. This is the second occasion that Virginia has won in the past four years and the third instance overall.
This prestigious award recognizes Virginia’s strong business-friendly environment, including legislation and incentives, workforce development programs, and the wide range of companies that have chosen the Commonwealth for expansions and relocations. Business Facilities highlighted the Virginia Business Ready Sites Program, the Virginia Talent Accelerator Program (the publication’s No. 1 Customized Workforce Training Program in 2023 and 2024), and selected major investments as key reasons for the honor.
“As the leading voice of business in the Commonwealth, the Virginia Chamber of Commerce is very pleased that Virginia has received yet another honor recognizing its leadership and strong economic development partnerships,” said Barry DuVal, President & CEO of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce. “This award reflects the tireless efforts of the Chamber, which does not endorse candidates, but endorses ideas. This winning strategy enables the Chamber to advance pro-business interests and work collaboratively with Virginia’s leaders in the Governor’s office and General Assembly.. Thank you to our strategic partners for working with us to ensure Virginia remains a leader in the global economy and the best state to do business.”
This recent achievement follows CNBC’s recent ranking of Virginia as America’s Top State for Business from earlier this year.
