Regionalism Matters – Energy Forum: Powering Our Region Together
October 28th, 2025

Fredericksburg, VA October 28th, 2025 – Virginia’s energy future is at a pivotal moment. As the Commonwealth advances ambitious clean energy goals, leaders are faced with the challenge of achieving sustainability while protecting the reliability and affordability that drive economic growth.

The Regionalism Matters Energy Forum: Powering Our Region Together will convene business leaders and energy experts for a timely and solutions-focused discussion on how to meet rising energy demands without compromising economic stability.

Keynote Speaker:
John Hewa, President & CEO of Rappahannock Electric Cooperative, will lead the conversation on how regional collaboration and balanced policy can ensure Virginia’s transition to cleaner energy remains reliable, affordable, and forward-thinking.

As new, energy-intensive industries enter the market and older generation assets retire, Virginia’s electric grid faces increasing strain, raising concerns about potential supply disruptions, rising costs, and long-term business competitiveness.

The Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce continues to advocate for thoughtful amendments to the Virginia Clean Economy Act (VCEA) to maintain electric reliability and affordability while continuing progress toward cleaner technologies.

Through collaboration, open dialogue, and regional leadership, this forum will explore how communities can power growth, innovation, and sustainability together, ensuring Virginia’s energy future remains strong, resilient, and inclusive of all stakeholders.
