Karen’s responsibilities include managing the various aspects of membership and the Virginia Chamber’s program of events.  Membership responsibilities include working with the president and CEO and membership team to oversee prospects and develop proposals to increase the Chamber’s membership, along with managing and conducting retention efforts, member outreach with chamber news and event information, and membership promotional opportunities.   Event management duties include site selection and coordination of all aspects of chamber meetings and events, along with securing event sponsorships and budget management.  

Prior to joining the Virginia Chamber, Karen worked in local government as senior staff assistant for a member of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors and for the county manager for Forsyth County in Winston-Salem, NC.  Karen has a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Virginia Tech.
