The Business Climate Industry Council provides thought leadership and advises policy research on initiatives that support the long-term economic development and growth of Virginia’s business community. Representing a strategic coalition of corporate member companies, the Industry Council is working collaboratively to preserve Virginia’s reputation as the #1 state for business.
Mission:
To further enhance Virginia’s outstanding business climate by encouraging economic development, expanding international trade opportunities, strengthening small businesses and entrepreneurs, and promoting policies which enable businesses to thrive and drive economic growth.
Vision:
To cultivate Virginia’s reputation as a top state for business and to make Virginia the preferred location for businesses around the world.
Industry Council Areas of Focus:
The Industry Council is working to implement the policies and initiatives outlined in the Business Climate chapter of the Virginia Chamber’s strategic plan, Blueprint Virginia 2035. The areas of focus identified within the document detail specific policy recommendations aimed at strengthening and further developing Virginia’s business community. Those areas of focus, broadly stated, include:
