Corporate Sustainability Industry Council

The Corporate Sustainability Industry Council provides thought leadership and advises policy research to advance corporate sustainability initiatives that promote long term economic success.

Mission:

To develop statewide best practices that promote investment in water quality and supply, ensure responsible and diverse energy solutions, and support environmental policies and regulations that encourage continued corporate sustainability.

Vision:

To maintain Virginia’s national leadership in corporate sustainability by promoting smart stewardship of the Commonwealth’s natural resource and continued use of best practices.

Industry Council Areas of Focus:

The Industry Council is working to implement the sustainability and environmental policies and initiatives outlined in the Virginia Chamber’s strategic plan, Blueprint Virginia 2030.  The four areas of focus identified within the document offer a pathway to protecting Virginia’s natural resources while at the same time using them in a thoughtful way to enable economic growth. Representing the objectives and goals of the Corporate Sustainability Industry Council, the four areas of focus broadly stated include:

  • Embracing Sustainable Business Practices
  • Supporting Energy Diversity
  • Conserving Our Natural Resources
  • Support and Strengthen Workforce Initiatives
