Join us for our signature event, the Virginia Forum on Infrastructure and Its Impact on Economic Development, where influential leaders, industry experts, and key stakeholders from across the Commonwealth converge to explore the pivotal role of infrastructure in fostering economic growth.
As the Virginia Chamber of Commerce develops Blueprint Virginia 2035, we are focused on how strategic infrastructure investments can drive long-term prosperity throughout Virginia. This forum is a cornerstone of that effort, bringing together the minds and ideas that will shape our state’s future.
This year’s forum will feature:
– Compelling keynote speakers who will share their insights on the future of infrastructure.
– Engaging panel discussions offering diverse perspectives on critical infrastructure topics.
– Four unique Infrastructure Showcases, providing attendees with an exclusive, up-close look at innovative projects that are actively shaping Virginia’s economic landscape.
Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel Parallel Thimble Shoal Tunnel Project
Discover one of Virginia’s most ambitious infrastructure projects – spanning 17.6 miles, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel is undergoing a major expansion with the Parallel Thimble Shoal Tunnel project. This new two-lane bored tunnel will enhance safety, reduce congestion, and improve connectivity for travelers between Hampton Roads and the Eastern Shore.
Chesapeake’s Broadband Initiative – Chesapeake Connects
Learn how the City of Chesapeake is bridging the digital divide with Chesapeake Connects—a bold initiative to build a 175-mile fiber optic network designed to deliver faster, more affordable, and more reliable connectivity to support critical city operations and expand broadband access across the community. This investment enhances everything from traffic management to emergency response, while positioning the City of Chesapeake to close the digital divide—especially in unserved and underserved areas.
Dominion Energy’s Coastal Offshore Wind Project (CVOW)
With an investment of over $220 million, Portsmouth Marine Terminal (PMT) has been transformed into a premier offshore wind staging hub supporting Dominion Energy’s Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project and giving Virginia the most advanced offshore wind logistics terminal in America. With 176 wind turbines under construction and full operation anticipated by 2026, this project is expected to generate 2.6 gigawatts of clean energy for 660,000 Virginia homes, marking a major step forward in clean energy and economic growth for the region.
Hampton Roads Sanitation District SWIFT Research Center
See firsthand how the HRSD’s SWIFT (Sustainable Water Initiative for Tomorrow) program is working to recharge the Potomac Aquifer, supporting long-term groundwater use across Virginia’s coastal plain. Using advanced water treatment to produce drinking-water quality SWIFTWater®, this innovative project will replenish critical groundwater reserves, enabling future water withdrawals and helping protect against saltwater intrusion and slowing or reducing land subsidence.
