VCC Closes First Solar Energy Loan
December 3rd, 2015

VCC is excited to announce the closing of its first solar energy loan.  This is one of two brand new lending products recently launched by VCC:

Virginia Solar Loan Product

Virginia Energy Efficiency Loan Product

The past nine years, VCC has provided a double bottom return and is now moving toward a triple bottom return with these new lending products.  This is another move toward expanding VCC’s regional impact across Virginia.

VCC’s first solar loan is part of the renovation of a historic building in Danville led by the development team of Brian Wishneff & Associates.  This client was able to take advantage of a 30% federal tax credit for solar energy and a 25% historic state tax credit by installing a new solar system on the roof of an existing building.  When the historic renovation is completed, the building will contain 14 apartments and 5,000 square feet of commercial space.
