On November 3, citizens around the Commonwealth overwhelmingly voted to approve the proposed Constitutional Amendment to create a Virginia Redistricting Commission.
As part of implementation, a Redistricting Commission Selection Committee has been established to select the eight citizen commissioners. The Selection Committee consists of five retired judges of the circuit courts of Virginia. The eight legislative commissioners will be selected by leadership of both major political parties in the General Assembly.
The Redistricting Commission Selection Committee has adopted an application and process by which residents of the Commonwealth may apply to serve on the Commission as citizen commissioners.
