David Oakley, Jr., the company’s president and CEO, was recently named to the Virginia 500. The Virginia 500 is a prestigious list of Virginia’s top 500 executives and leaders, published each September by Virginia Business Magazine. This annual list highlights the most powerful and influential business leaders in the Commonwealth, and recognizes their contributions to business, government, education, and the community.

Oakley has been in his role since 2011, when he was hired by Strongwell chairman, John Tickle. “David has done a great job leading Strongwell. Ensuring we have solid leadership in place for the future is one of the key reasons I hired David, knowing he can take us to the next level and grow Strongwell for many years to come,” said Tickle.

Oakley came to Strongwell from HAPCO Pole Products in Abingdon, Virginia, where he was promoted through the ranks, eventually serving as its president. Prior to HAPCO, Oakley held roles in marketing, sales, and management at various companies.
