RICHMOND — The Virginia Chamber of Commerce has welcomed five new members to its executive committee for 2017. Brief bios of the new executive committee members are available below. Bill Aden – Vice Chair – Southwest
Bill Aden is a founder of Draper Aden Associates, a 200+ person civil and environmental engineering firm located in offices across Virginia . He currently serves in an emeritus position in the firm, and is involved in various real estate ventures in the Southwest Virginia area. He holds a real estate license with Coldwell Banker Townside Realtors in Blacksburg. In addition to Board membership on the Virginia State Chamber of Commerce, he serves on the Foundation Board of New River Community College, the Board of the Blacksburg Partnership, the Board of Mountain Lake Lodge in Giles County Virginia, and the Board of the Blacksburg Museum and Cultural Foundation. He has served on the Virginia Tech Civil Engineering Advisory Board, College of Engineering Advisory Board, and the University Alumni Board. He was selected as Business Person of the Year by the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce in 2012 and received the designation of Distinguished Civil Engineering Alumni in 2010.
Vince Ammann – Vice Chair – Public Relations
Vincent L. Ammann, Jr., is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for WGL Holdings, Inc. and Washington Gas Light Co. He is responsible for the administration and supervision of all financial functions including accounting, taxes, investor relations, risk management and treasury management.
Prior to his election as CFO on September 30, 2006, Mr. Ammann held several executive finance positions at Washington Gas and WGL Holdings. He joined Washington Gas in 2004 from two local gas distribution companies in Connecticut where he had worked for 14 years in various executive positions in accounting, finance and administration. He also started a non-utility subsidiary which invested in technology solutions for the utility industry. Prior to his industry experience in Connecticut, Mr. Ammann had worked in auditing and consulting capacities for Deloitte and Touche for nine years. He started his career in the Detroit office of Deloitte and transferred to Washington to an Executive Office group serving public utility clients with accounting, regulatory and tax consulting services.
Mr. Ammann serves on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce, the Virginia Chamber PAC, and CulturalDC (an arts economic development organization in DC). He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Gas Association, where he is Past Chairman of its Finance Committee.
Mr. Ammann holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Connecticut and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from The University of Michigan.
Paige Clay – Vice Chair – Piedmont
Paige Clay is a Mercer Partner and the Carolinas and Virginia market leader. She manages a number of the firm’s largest clients with representation in the following industries: insurance and financial services, manufacturing, retail/distributors, healthcare, energy, and government contracting. Paige joined Mercer’s Talent business 5 years ago to assist clients with strategy, workforce analytics and change management, and provides end-to-end human capital services that combine strategic advice, design and implementation. She has more than 23 years of financial services experience as a senior executive in finance, operations, call centers, and human resources. Her leadership spans all business cycles, from start up to decline, and global operations in the US, UK, and India. Prior to joining Mercer, Paige was SVP, Global Human Resources at Encore Capital Group and Chief People Officer at Capital One Bank where she demonstrated success with acquisition integration, strategy creation, talent assessment and development, project management, and process improvement. Other responsibilities included executive compensation, talent management, succession planning, performance management, and global compensation planning. Paige obtained her bachelor’s degree in finance from Virginia Tech and a master’s degree in business administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is certified by the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
Julie Maloy – Vice Chair – Government Relations
Julie Maloy, CHFC, CLU, is Vice President Agency – Sales in the Eastern Market Area, responsible for territories in Virginia and West Virginia. She joined State Farm® in 1984 as an agent in Niceville, Fla., was named Agency Field Consultant in Anderson, S.C., in 1995 and returned to Florida in 1996 as an Agency Field Executive in Pensacola. She was named Executive Assistant to the Chairman’s Council at Corporate Headquarters in 1998. She was promoted to the position of Vice President – Agency in 2002 in the Mid-America Zone, with responsibility for Kentucky. In 2008, she was promoted to Vice President Agency Recruiting in Bloomington. In 2011, Julie came to the Mid Atlantic Zone as a Vice President – Agency working with West Virginia and Virginia. Maloy received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Ala., with a major in marketing and a minor in economics. She completed her CLU designation in 2000 and received her CHFC designation in 2006. Julie is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Chamber of Commerce.
Julie and her husband John live in Charlottesville, Va. and have two sons, Nick and Matt who both live in New York. Nick, a designer with John Varvados is married to Anastasiya. They have a daughter Alexandria and son Dimitri. Matt is an investment banker at Jefferies.
Alan Witt – Vice Chair – Hampton Roads
Alan Witt has more than 40 years of public accounting experience and currently services as CEO of PBMares, LLP. His professional activities include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants where he served as a member of the Credit Union Committee and the Group of 400 Practice Advisory Group. He is a Past President of the Peninsula Chapter of the VSCPA (which merged with the TCVSCPA) and previously served on the Ethics Committee, the Chapter Activities Committee, and the Accounting and Auditing Advisory Task Force of the VSCPA. Mr. Witt’s community activities include Chairman, Riverside Health System; Board of Directors, Virginia Chamber of Commerce; Board of Directors, Towne Bank; Executive Committee, Hampton Roads Business Roundtable; former Member, Commonwealth Transportation Board; former Member, Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Tunnel Commission; former Rector, Christopher Newport University (CNU); former Chairman, Newport News Industrial Development Authority; City Council Member 1996-1998, City of Newport News; former Chairman, Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce. Alan Witt is a Certified Public Accountant who earned his Bachelor from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia. He holds a CPA license in Virginia, North Carolina, and New York.
