Rick Barker Properties, LLC
Danville, Virginia
Rick Barker Properties is pleased to announce the acquisition of the former Brockway Glass distribution center at 240 Factory Lane in Ringgold VA. Formerly occupied by Owens-Brockway Glass, eToys Direct, and most recently by IKEA, this 152,000 square foot distribution center represents the best leasable space in the warehouse category in Southern Virginia.
“Modern warehouses of this variety are rarely available in our region, and thereby creates an excellent development opportunity,” said Barker. “One can easily imagine attracting a major manufacturer in need of a large footprint and the complimenting acreage. Additionally, if conceived as a distribution center, its location adjacent to Crane Creek Centre will provide access to Danville’s rapidly expanding manufacturing base, including Morgan Olsen.”
The building features 152,379 square feet, with a 37 foot ceiling suitable for racking, 13 covered dock doors, 50 foot column spacing and 8 inch thick concrete floors.
“Our investment exemplifies the confidence that we have in Danville’s and Pittsylvania County’s economic development leadership, and their ability to continue to attract quality industrial development and job creation projects,” Barker added.
Regarding IKEA’s shuttering of its Danville facility, creating the warehouse vacancy, “We at Supply Resources (sister company to Rick Barker Properties) have enjoyed a great business relationship with IKEA over the last decade. IKEA is the model for responsible corporate citizenship and our region will remember them fondly.”
